Chocolate and the Heart

In February both chocolate and the heart are the focus of attention not only because of Valentine’s Day but February is heart month in the health world.

 Chocolate now plays a part in the matters of the heart. (I’m a poet and I don’t know it!!)

New studies show that cocoa lowers blood pressure and could reduce inflammation.  Chocolate has anti-oxidants that we need.  We just have to be careful eating too much of this delectable delight because of the sugar content.

We are told to eat dark chocolate and to eat about one ounce a day.  For some folks that might be hard even though we need the anti-oxidants, we sure don’t need to load up on sugar!

All things in moderation is the key.
